Is my data secure?

Yes. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Google Firebase for secure storage and follow industry-standard security practices. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use the app offline?

Yes. The app works offline and automatically syncs data when your connection is restored. Some features (AI analysis, community features) require an internet connection.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → Account → Delete Account. Your data will be permanently removed within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

What's included in the Premium subscription?

Premium unlocks unlimited cloud backup, advanced shot analysis, equipment tracking, and more. Check the app for the full feature list. A free trial is available on first purchase.

How do I enable AI shot analysis?

Premium members can enable AI analysis in Settings. Upload a shot photo or video, and the AI will provide detailed feedback on your espresso extraction.

Can I share my shots with friends?

Yes! With community features enabled, you can follow other users, share recipes, and publish shots to the community. Toggle this on/off in Settings → Privacy.

3. App Issues & Troubleshooting

The app crashes on startup

  1. Force-quit the app (swipe up and hold on iOS; long-press and close on Android)
  2. Restart your device
  3. Reopen the app
  4. If the issue persists, try uninstalling and reinstalling the app

I can't log in

My data isn't syncing

Photos/videos won't upload

Sign-In Options

Two-Factor Authentication

If you use Apple, Google, or Facebook login, two-factor authentication is automatically enabled by these providers for added security.

Linking Multiple Accounts

You can link multiple sign-in methods to the same account in Settings → Account → Connected Accounts.

Privacy Settings

Control who sees your profile and what data you share: Settings → Privacy. Options include public profile, sharing brews, recipe sharing, and analytics.

What's the difference between Free and Premium?

How do I upgrade to Premium?

Open the app, navigate to Settings, and tap Upgrade to Premium. Choose your subscription plan. A free trial is typically available for first-time users.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android):
iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → The Espresso → Cancel
Android: Play Store → My Apps & Games → Subscriptions → The Espresso → Cancel

Is a free trial available?

Yes, most subscription plans include a free trial period. No payment is charged until the trial ends. You can cancel anytime before the trial ends without being charged.

6. Features & How-To

Logging a Shot

  1. Tap the + button in the "Shots" tab
  2. Enter your espresso parameters (dose, yield, time, temperature)
  3. Optionally add photos, videos, or notes
  4. Tap "Save"

Viewing Statistics

Your shot statistics are displayed on the "Dashboard" tab: Average extraction time, total shots logged, equipment preferences, and more.

Equipment Tracking

Add your espresso machine, grinder, and accessories in the "Equipment" section. Track usage and maintenance logs for each piece of equipment.

Latte Art Guide

Learn step-by-step latte art techniques in the "Latte Art" section. Includes video tutorials and detailed instructions for various designs.

AI-Powered Analysis (Premium)

Upload a photo or video of your shot, and the AI will analyze your extraction and provide personalized feedback.

Community

Share recipes, tips, and shots with the The Espresso community. Follow other users, like their content, and engage with baristas worldwide.
